SEPTEMBER SNEAK PEEKS:

Hello there! Sorry for the long break, but I've been a busy girl. I've decided to hold a monthly Card Night at my house for Club Members. And I've been DEEP cleaning. We had a huge tent sale a couple of weeks ago which was extremely successful. We got rid of lots of stuff, including 8 boxes of retired Stampin' Up! stuff, so naturally, I needed to get more:) I got a huge box of brand new Holiday goodies last week and I've been busy prepping for Card Night. I can't wait to share all of these projects with you, but for now, these sneak peeks will have to tide you over.

We'll be making a fun Halloween card using lots of new stuff along with a fall card...

a card made with my favorite Hostess set...

and another made with Cycle Celebrations. I figured our bike-riding days are numbered, so we'll send out summer with a bang.

I've taken a couple of months off of holding events, so it will be nice to get together with this small group of gals again. And it's good incentive to keep my house clean:) Thanks so much for stopping by!

SERIOUSLY AMAZING PAPER PUMPKIN:

Hello there! Just popping in to share August's Paper Pumpkin Kit called Seriously Amazing...and it IS seriously amazing! The kit makes 4 cards with different sentiments, and it includes 4 extra laser cut fronts to make more:)

It also came with 4 card size envelopes and 4 gift card size. I traced around one of the large envelopes before I assembled it to have a template to make more for the extra cards:)

The kit also had all the components to make these sweet little gift card holders with 4 extra cut-out fronts to make more.

Aren't these the cutest little things?

No doubt, this is my favorite Paper Pumpkin so far! I hear that next month's kit is Halloween and has cute little burlap bags. Can't wait to see what the mailman brings next month! Thanks so much for stopping by:)

SIX-SIDED SAMPLER CARD:

Hello there! I'm still waiting to get my hands on some brand new stuff from the Holiday Catalog, so in the meantime I thought I'd work with some of the sets that I've neglected. This card is made with Six-Sided Sampler, which I've had for a long time but could never figure out what to do with it. I don't like geometric or modern or contemporary designs, so I'm not really sure why I even got this set. I think it was just for the font of this sentiment! Anywhoo, I was looking around on Pinterest and saw a card made similar to this and I really liked it:) I started with a Crumb Cake base and used Gold Soiree DSP.

I don't know what's gotten in to me this month, but every card I've made is super quick & easy. Sorry dear card ladies, I always seem to save the challenging ones for you when we get together:( I stamped one of the hexagons in Calypso Coral~ink & cardstock, but for the rest I used the DSP. The Hexagon Punch made it a snap. Actually, it did take me awhile to get the right configuration of patterns down. I'm not even going to tell you how many times I moved everything around til I got it the way I wanted it.

I stamped the sentiment in Garden Green onto Whisper White Cardstock and glued one end to a toothpick to make a sweet little pennant. I added a Tangerine Tango Baker's Twine bow to the top and adhered with Dimensionals. I sprinkled a couple of In Color Sequins around and that's all there is to this one. I did struggle a bit with placemant of the sequins as you can tell by the ripped-up cardstock. I always have to find a way to make things more difficult than they need to be:/

You may not hear from me for a few more days~I'm getting ready for a big Garage Sale. 9 boxes of SU! stuff so far! If you're in the neighborhood next week-end, you'll definitely want to check it out! Thanks so much for stopping by:)

GIGGLE GREETINGS CARD:

Hello there! Today I have a fun card to share with you made with the set Giggle Greetings. How can you not love this set? I haven't made a card with red in it forever, so I knew that was going to be my starting point. I used a Real Red base and ran it through the Big Shot using the Large Polka Dot Embossing Folder. I used Tuxedo Black Memento ink and colored the image with Daffodil Delight Blendabilities. I used the Nude Marker from the Skin Tone Assortment to give it some depth. I cut out the image using the Starburst Framelits.

I layered the top image onto a Real Red circle and Going Grey circle cut out with the Circles Collection Framelits and adhered with Dimensionals in between. I tied a piece of Hello Honey Stitched Satin Ribbon around a piece of Flashback DSP and attached the circles on top. I finished it off with an Essentials Wooden Element and a Brights Candy Dot...in Real Red of course:)

I added some Beach House Washi Tape to the envelope for a perfect compliment to the card. Another super quick and easy card~maybe I'm on to something? It'll never stick. Thanks so much for stopping by today:)

WETLANDS CARD:

Hello there! Today I have a masculine card to share with you. I know these are kind of rare for me~I struggle with them, but I'm challenging myself to do better in this department. I make cards for our Card Ministry at church and I know they can use them. I used the set Wetlands, which I like alot, but have put off getting. I'm really glad I finally gave in and ordered it and got it inked up. I started with a Soft Suede base and stamped the background image in Soft Suede as well.

I then used my Aqua Painters with Pool Party & Old Olive ink to paint the background onto Watercolor Paper. So much fun! I used my Heat Tool to speed up the drying and stamped the goose in Soft Suede. I used the Aqua Painters again to add a little shading on his front. I stamped off the background image in Soft Suede a couple of times before stamping onto the Watercolor Paper. I cut out a piece of Park Lane DSP the same size as with the goose image and adhered it to the base.

Next, I used the 1/2" Circle Punch to cut out the notches on the sides and wrapped Old Olive Baker's twine around a couple of times. I then added a Basic Metal Button and tied a knot to keep it in place. I added the goose image with Dimensionals and that's all there was to this card:)

In case you stopped by yesterday and read about my upcoming Garage Sale, you probably noticed that I told you it was coming up in July~well, obviously that was wrong~thanks to my good buddy Jamie who keeps me on my toes! It is going to be AUGUST 15 & 16. My brain has left the building:( Thanks so much for stopping by!

MIXED BUNCH CARD:

Hello there! Here's a bright & sunny card for you today using the set Mixed Bunch. And it is a mixed bunch of sets...I also used the Chalk Talk set & Framelits and A Dozen Thoughts for the sentiment. Sometimes I look at the Product Ideas SU! artists put on my DBWS for inspiration and that's where this came from. I had to tweak it a bit as some of the stuff was retired. I started with a Whisper White base and stamped the flower background in Daffodil Delight.

I stamped the tag in Daffodil Delight ink onto the same cardstock and used the Chalk Talk Framelits to cut it out along with the Pool Party tag from the Subtles DSP Stack. I trimmed the bottom of the Daffodil tag and stamped the sentiment in Basic Grey. I tied a piece of Crushed Curry Baker's Twine through the tag and adhered it to the base with SNAIL.

I punched out 2 flowers using the 1 1/4" Scallop Punch and cut petals on the top flower using Paper Snips. I added a Dimensional in between and attached it to the tag. I attached the Daffodil tag to the Pool Party tag with Dimensionals and added a Regals Button to the center. Super simple and super sweet!

Just wanted to give those close by a heads up that I'm going to be having a Garage Sale on August 15 & 16 and will be getting rid of lots of retired SU! I need more room for the awesome new stuff coming! More details to follow. Thanks so much for stopping by:)

JULY PAPER PUMPKIN:

Hello there! Popping in with a quickie today. I've got the flu or something and not feeling the best:( I wanted to share July's Paper Pumpkin~Wish Big. I used this for my Hostess gift last month.

This was a great kit! It came with lots of stamps, stickers and enough supplies to make 6 of these sweet boxes and 6 matching cards:)

Oh, and it came with a whole roll of this yummy satin ribbon!

I used the pretty blue tissue that comes with each kit to line the inside of the box, since it matched perfectly with the stickers. Of course there's chocolate inside the tissue:)

Here's the card that came with the kit. I added a few more stickers than what the sample showed. That's the beauty of PP~you can change it up how you want because they always give you extra supplies.

I used a scrap piece from the sticker sheet as a straight edge to line the stickers up evenly. If you subscribe to PP and haven't put your cards together yet, this will be a helpful tip:)

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Stay tuned, I'm working on more cards and will have one ready to share tomorrow:)

WATERCOLOR THANK YOU CASE:

Hello there! So sorry for the big break between posts~I guess I've had lots going on! Our church had an outreach day a few weeks ago at an apartment complex with lots of kids. We were trying to come up with ideas for games and I volunteered to do a Make & Take booth-even though I wasn't sure if I'd see much traffic. This is the card that some of the kids made. I cased it from the catalog but made a couple of changes. I knew I needed something fairly simple and nothing that would be too time consuming, and this worked perfectly:) We started with a Coastal Cabana base and used Dotty Angles for the background, stamped in Coastal Cabana as well. We stamped the sentiment with the single stamp Watercolor Thank You onto Whisper White Cardstock using Coastal ink again. I knew better than to bring multiple colors in stamp pads:)

We added a strip of Lullaby DSP to the top and had fun adding accents of Sweet Sadie Washi Tape. Next, we tied a piece of Crushed Curry Baker's Twine around the top and tied a bow. Once this piece was assembled, we adhered it to the Coastal base.

Our WOW(Wide Open Worship) band played and when I was singing with the band, I looked over at the card table and there were about 8 kids around it making cards! A few of the kids forgot to take their cards with them, so I thought I'd share them with you. We're planning another Back to School event with them, so hopefully they can pick up their cards then.

I figured the majority of the card makers would be moms and their daughters, but I couldn't have been more wrong! There were a few dads who brought their daughters around to the booths, and I had some young girls make cards, but the majority were young boys! I told them they now had a handmade thank you card to give to someone and most of them told me they were going to give it to their mom:) Precious!

Some of the kids followed my design, but some got very creative. This one even decorated the envelope:) My kinda kid!

Our daughter Emily manned the Duck Pond, so Quinten had to check out the duckies ahead of time to make sure they could swim...

We had a heck of a time getting him out of the tub:)

We ended up with a beautiful day and a great turn-out and the time flew while we were there. I kind of figured we'd be a blessing to these kids and their families~we grilled hot dogs, had cookies, played lots of games & had prizes, and candy and gave away some gift cards; but I didn't realize just how much of a blessing they would be to me:) So excited to plan for the next event! Thanks so much for stopping by:)
