CUTE CONVERSATIONS JANUARY PAPER PUMPKIN:

Hello there! I've been working on some alternate projects for this month's Paper Pumpkin called Cute Conversations. You might want to go make a pot of coffee~you're going to be here awhile:) This is one of the treat holders made pretty much according to the kit instructions.

It also comes with directions to make a cute banner. I didn't really have a use for a banner, so I decorated this cute waste basket I found at Target, and I'll use it to haul all of my goodies to my Paper Pumpkin Night on Thursday.

This is the cute stamp set that came with the kit, along with a Watermelon Wonder spot.

Some have been speculating what 'meh' means. It basically means whatever, or indifference. Probably the best way to sum it up would be the mindset of  a 10 year old boy regarding Valentine's Day...or just girls in general.

For this card I started with a Crumb Cake base and added a piece of Love Blossoms DSP from the Paper Stack found in the Occasions Catalog. I used the retired Heart Framelits to cut out a Watermelon Wonder heart and heat-embossed it using Whisper White Craft ink and White Embossing Powder. I added a Bow Paper Clip Embellishment and a piece of Watermelon Wonder Dotted Lace Trim.

I made this cute little treat holder by using 2 of the hearts from the kit. I attached a band of Watermelon Wonder Cardstock to accommodate more candy:)

I cut 2 strips~one at 4" x 1 1/4" and the other at 3 1/2" x 1 1/4". I scored the long sides of each strip at 1/4", and I scored the 4" strip at 1/2" on the short side. I snipped up to the score line at 1/4" intervals approx.

I glued the strips together and then to the hearts using Liquid Tombow as shown:

I used the 1/8" Circle Handheld Punch to punch out circles at the tops of the hearts and thread the baker's twine through to make 2 handles.

Ooops...I should back up...I added a Window Sheet to the inside of the top heart before I glued the band to the heart, again using Liquid Tombow. I used the Bow Builder Punch for the bow using scraps from the die-cut heart paper.

The next 4 projects were inspired from the SU! site. I love when the SU! artists share their alternate ideas, and I was so happy that they shared their ideas in time for my Paper Pumpkin Party:) For this treat holder I adhered 2 of the hearts together, leaving the top open for a treat. I glued a strip of Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine to the top heart for a handle. I cut off 14" of the sequin trim for the sentiment and used Glue Dots to secure it. You'll want to add the banners at the bottom to the inside of the hearts before you adhere them together.

I tried to add the banners after the fact~hence the bow...made with Blushing Bride Cotton Ribbon.

For this card I started with a Watermelon Wonder base and added a piece of Botanical Gardens Vellum from the Vellum Stack, which is one of the Sale-A-Bration offerings~meaning, you can get it for FREE:) I stamped random hearts with Watermelon Wonder ink and added a piece of Silver Satin Ribbon. I stapled it together using the Handheld Stapler and adhered it to the vellum with Fast Fuse. I added layers of Basic Grey & Smoky Slate Cardstock & stamped the arrows with Smoky Slate ink. I finished it off with a Silver Basic Metal Button and Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine.

Here's a treat holder perfect for the guys in your life~not too over the top, and super simple using a Kraft Tag A Bag Gift Bag. I used the heart from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits and the Big Shot to cut it out, but any heart shape you have would work. I used one of the hearts to make the tag as shown:

It measures 2 1/4" wide and 4" long.

For this card, I used 2 of the hearts from the kit and glued the ends of the twine to the back with Liquid Tombow. I used the adhesive strips included, and adhered the tops of the hearts together, just below the twine. I used Glue Dots to attach the bow, sequin trim and to keep the banners in place.

I added a sentiment to the inside as well. You can go to www.stampinup.com to see the original projects.

I've been excited to try out my new Wink of Stella glitter pen, and tried it out on this card. Unfortunately, I couldn't get it to photograph very well, but it's super fun to use! I started with a Crumb Cake base and used the new Bear Hug Framelits to cut out the hearts from scrap paper from the kit.

I simply painted the stamps with Wink of Stella and stamped onto the cardstock . I used the set Gorgeous Grunge for the splatter.

For this card I started with a Watermelon Wonder base and added a piece of In Color Envelope Paper. I attached the banners through paper clips and secured with Glue Dots. I attached the banners to the heart with Dimensionals and added a piece of Everyday Chic Washi Tape to the bottom. I cut out a heart from Real Red Cardstock using the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack and attached it to an Itty Bitty Accents Epoxy Sticker.

This card started with a Whisper White base and I added a piece of SAB Perfectly Artistic DSP. I stamped the sentiment onto Whisper White Cardstock using Smoky Slate ink and used the Decorative Label Punch to punch it out. I punched another label using Blushing Bride Cardstock, cut it down, and adhered it behind the white. I used the set Oh What Fun for the flourish on the label using Blushing Bride ink. I finished it off with Everyday Chic washi Tape and Basic Pearls.

Last, but not least are these fun little 'love clutches' I made. Each is made with one of the hearts from the kit.

I used a piece of scrap paper to figure out measurements, and you score the heart at 1" on each side, 1 1/2" from the top, and 3 1/8" from the bottom. I used the Simply Scored Tool and made sure both sides of the heart at the top lay flush against the board.

Once you score the heart, you'll stamp the sentiment upside down.

Fold the side in and add SNAIL as shown.

Use a flat, rectangular candy like the Miniatures above.

Add a Glue Dot to the point and kind of pinch together as you close it to close up the gap at the top.

I used Watermelon Wonder Dotted Lace Trim, Gold Metallic Thread and Conversation Hearts to embellish.

I told you you'd be here awhile, but hopefully you got some good ideas for other uses for your kit. For those of you attending my Paper Pumpkin Party on Thursday night, please let me know which of the alternate projects you're interested in making so I can have everything prepped for you. Thanks so much for stopping by!

SAB PERFECT PAIRINGS CARD:

Hello there! Here's the last card I've made for our church Card Ministry this month using another Sale-A-Bration set called Perfect Pairings. I started with a Very Vanilla base. I used a piece of Bohemian DSP and used the Star Framelits and Big Shot to cut out the star. I adhered the DSP to the base using SNAIL and used the Eclectic Paper-piercing Template, Mat & Tool to add the extra detail.

I stamped the sentiment with Island Indigo ink onto Bermuda Bay Cardstock. I ran a piece of Bohemian Washi Tape across the top and another coodinating design under the sentiment. I folded a piece of Hello Honey Striped Ribbon and stapled it to the banner.

I made a messy swirl with Linen Thread and secured it in place with Glue Dots. I added Dimensionals to the back of the sentiment and attached it on top. I finished it off with a Silver Basic Metal Button and attached it with a Glue Dot.

I'm really surprised at how much I ended up liking this card, lol. I'm not a huge fan of the Bohemian paper, or the color combination in it, but for some reason I like this. I definitely like the fact that I made this card with a stamp set that I got for FREE! Thanks so much for stopping by:)

SAB HELLO CARD:

Hello there! As promised, today I want to share a birthday card made with the Sale-A-Bration set Hello. This is one of my favorite SAB offerings this year. In case you're not familiar with Sale-A-Bration, for every $50 purchase, you get to pick a SAB offering for FREE! This year there are 11 different products that you can choose from, including stamp sets, DSP and a Project Life Card Collection. Some of the offerings will only be available for a limited time until February 15, and then another batch of products will be coming:) For this card I started with a Crumb Cake base and stamped the background image with Tip Top Taupe ink.

I added a piece of Watermelon Wonder Dotted Lace Trim, and a piece of Cherry On Top Washi Tape over that. I then used the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig with Tip Top Taupe ink to add the border underneath. I cut out one of the banner images from the Cherry On Top DSP Stack and adhered with Liquid Tombow. I then wrapped a piece of Crushed Curry Baker's Twine around the card and tied a bow.

I stamped the sentiment in Watermelon Wonder ink onto Whisper White Cardstock and cut it out with the Ovals Framelits and Big Shot. I stamped the smiley faces in Crushed Curry, Pool Party and Cucumber Crush ink. I added a strip of Crushed Curry Cardstock to the bottom of the oval, stamped with Tip Top Taupe ink, and attached it to the base with Dimensionals. I stamped another smiley face onto a scrap of Whisper White Cardstock and used the Owl Builder Punch to cut it out. I colored the hat image with Pool Party, Watermelon Wonder and Cucumber Crush Markers, and cut it out with Paper Snips. I then attached them with Dimensionals.

This is another card I"ll make for our church Card Ministry, and I'm sure they'll put them to good use. Now is a great time to order a few things you've been needing, or get some new goodies from the Occasions Catalog and get some freebies:)  Sale-A-Bration will be going on now through March 31. NO BONES ABOUT IT CARD:

It features the set No Bones About It, which I plan to get lots of use out of for my grandson Quinten:) I started with a Pacific Point base and aded a strip of Schoolhouse DSP to the top. I cut the Whisper White Cardstock with the File Tab Edgelits and stamped the dino in Daffodil Delight ink with Pacific Point dots.

I added a strip of Tangerine Tango Cardstock and stamped the sentiment with Tangerine Tango ink as well. I attached a piece of In Color Washi Tape and tied Crushed Curry Baker's Twine around the tab. I adhered a Brights Button with a Glue Dot on top.

WINTER WISHES CARD:

Hello there! Today I'm sharing a card made with the set Winter Wishes. This set just retired with the Holiday Catalog, and I really hate posting projects using retired projects, but I ran out of time to use it:( I'm working on cards for our church Card Ministry and wanted to get some use out of this set, especially when most of us could use some warm wishes right now as it's freezing! I started with a Tip Top Taupe base and added a layer of Farmer's Market DSP on top. I stamped the sled image with Tip Top Taupe ink onto the same color cardstock and cut out the circle using the Big Shot and Circles Framelits.

I stamped 2 of the skate images onto Whisper White Cardstock and colored them with Early Espresso and Smoky Slate Markers. I filled the background in with a Crumb Cake Marker and drew lines with a Tip Top Taupe Marker to resemble the woodgrain of the sled behind them. I used a Sponge Dauber with Tip Top Taupe ink to add some age to the skates. I cut them out and layered with a Dimensional in between. I used the Paper-piercing Tool to poke 2 holes through the sled, strung a piece of Whisper White Baker's Twine through them and tied a bow.

I stamped the sentiment onto a piece of Always Artichoke Cardstock with the same color ink, as well as the greenery. I stamped the pinecones onto Soft Suede Cardstock using Early Espresso ink, and cut them all out with my Paper Snips. I didn't really think this through, as I now have to do this for 12 cards~oh well, I'm definitely going to get to spend time with this set:) I tucked the skates under the bow and adhered with SNAIL, as well as the greenery and pinecones.

I had visions for this set as soon as I saw it and they looked something like this. It has a nostalgic feel for me as it reminds me of the times we'd go ice skating on the pond in our neighborhood when I was a kid. We'd have so much fun and stay out so long that we could hardly walk home because our toes were frozen solid. I remember my grandma rubbing my feet in her hands to help them defrost. Such happy times:) Thanks so much for stopping by!

FOR THE NEW TWO CARD:

Hello there! The Associate Pastor in our church got married on New Year's Eve and I wanted to share the card I made for him & his new bride:) They got married in Texas, and from the online pictures I saw, I think the colors were navy and gold. I started with a Night of Navy base and used the Dots & Stripes Decorative Masks to add the stripes with Night of Navy ink and a Sponge Dauber.

I used the set For The New Two and stamped the sentiment in VersaMark onto Shimmery White Cardstock. I added Gold Embossing Powder and used the Heat Tool to set it. I then wiped off the stamp really well and masked off the sentiment with Post-It notes and inked up just the floral design with VersaMark. I used the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to get perfect placement, added Gold Embossing Powder and set it with the Heat Tool as well. I used the Deco Labels Framelits along with the Big Shot to cut it out.

I trimmed down a Metallic Foil Doily and attached it to the back side of the label. I looped a piece of Night of Navy Seam Binding and adhered it to the back of the label with SNAIL. I attached it to a Gold Fancy Foil Vellum banner with Dimensionals.

I finished off the card by running a piece of gold baker's twine that I had left over from my Paper Pumpkin kit this month, through a Classy Button. I tied a bow and attached it with Glue Dots, and added a strip of Basic Pearl Jewels above the sentiment. Check back tomorrow for another card I made to share with you. Thanks so much for stopping by:)

ONE GREAT YEAR PAPER PUMPKIN:

Hello there! I just finally got to my Paper Pumpkin over the week-end. And I am loving it! It's a little calendar on a gold easel with 4 different designs. I couldn't bear to cut up the pages to make alternate projects with, so I had to do a little improvising. I'll share them in a minute.

This is the stamp set included in the kit along with a Soft Suede spot. Isn't this the most adorable font? I couldn't love it any more!

Here's the second design.

The third design.

And the fourth.

Sorry this picture is so crappy, but this is one of my favorite kits so far. Apparently lots of others thought so too, as the refill sold out almost as soon as it was available.

Here is one of the alternative cards that I came up with. As I mentioned earlier, I couldn't cut up the paper that came with the kit, so I used other DSP or made my own. I started with a Whisper White base and added a piece of English Garden DSP on top. On top of that I added a piece of Bohemian DSP.

I made a tag using the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch with a piece of Whisper White Cardstock. I used the set Wetlands with Soft Suede & Rich Razzleberry. I added one of the leftover banners and a piece of Gold Fancy Foil Vellum to the base and ran a piece of Bohemian Washi Tape over the top.

I stamped off the dot design on one of the leftover banners and adhered it to the bottom of the tag. I attached the tag to the gold banner with Dimensionals.

I then finished the card with a leftover flower and baker's twine from the kit.

I got the idea for this card from Debbie Henderson @ www.debbiesdesignsblog.blogspot.com.
I started with a Hello Honey base and used the same ink for the background. I made my own DSP by using one of the flower shapes from the die-cut sheet to add the dots randomly onto a piece of Whisper White Cardstock. I used Mossy Meadow ink and a Sponge Dauber.

Next, I wrapped a piece of Crushed Curry Baker's Twine around the card and tied a bow. I folded a Tea Lace Doily in half and adhered to the DSP with SNAIL. I ran a piece of In Color Washi Tape over the top and added various banners made with Hello Honey Cardstock, English Garden DSP and left over gold banners.

I used the set Endless Thanks for the sentiment and stamped it in Melon Mambo ink onto one of the leftover banners. I attached it with Dimensionals.

I finished the card off by adding one of the leftover flowers with a Dimensional.

I got inspiration for this card from www.stampinup.com. I started with a Hello Honey base and used English Garden DSP. I attached the papers with SNAIL and wrapped a piece of twine around them and tied a bow. I added Dimensionals to the back and adhered to the base.

The sentiment is from Tin of Cards in Hello Honey ink onto Whisper White Cardstock. I cut a piece of a Tea Lace Doily and attached it underneath the banner.

I added a leftover flower with a Dimensional and added a Basic Rhinestone to the center.

I sent this to a friend who shares a New Year's Eve birthday with my hubby:)

And this is my most favorite alternate project. I got the idea from the SU! site as well, and made a couple minor changes. I started with a Pool Party base and stamped the months onto a piece of Whisper White Cardstock using Calypso Coral ink.

I added a layer of Bermuda Bay Cardstock underneath and adhered to the base. I stamped january a second time onto Calypso Coral Cardstock and attached with SNAIL. I then used the Celebrate Today set to stamp the dots onto a piece of Crushed Curry Cardstock. I used the coordinating Balloon Framelits to cut out the balloon with the help of the Big Shot. You can bundle the set and save 15%:)

I stamped the sentiment on the balloon with Whisper White Craft ink and added White Embossing Powder over the top. I used the Heat Tool to set it and added a piece of Crushed Curry Baker's Twine. I cut out 2 of the tassels~one in Calypso Coral and the other in Silver Glimmer Paper and attached underneath the balloon with Liquid Tombow.

I added a piece of Cherry On Top Washi Tape over the cardstock and attached the balloon with Dimensionals. I finished it off by cutting out the 3 with the File Tab Edgelits in Bermuda Bay Cardstock. I attached it with Dimensional pieces and Glue Dots. I made a coordinating envelope using the Envelope Punch Board and Brights Color Collection DSP Stack. I think this is the perfect card! It's a great use for the awesome One Great Year stamp set and I love that you can customize it with the month and date. I'm sure it would make anyone feel extra special!
